How to Keep Your Board Alive After Hitting the 2048 Tile
Reaching high mathematical milestones in sliding puzzles.

The second-stage problem

When you hit 2048, that tile takes up one of your sixteen board slots permanently for the rest of your run. You now have only fifteen cells to build a second 2048.

Space management becomes twice as tight. A single misplaced tile in row three can deadlock your entire run.

Extending the snake chain across row two

To create the second 2048, wrap your snake chain upward. If row four holds 2048, 1024, 512, and 256, row three should build in reverse: 32, 64, 128, and 256 directly above the bottom-right corner.

This serpentine pattern keeps the merge chain connected across both rows without ever breaking your corner foundation.
