Color contrast and pastel tones to prevent eye strain.

The danger of hyper-saturation

Many mobile developers use maximum saturation RGB colors: neon pinks, radioactive greens, and blinding cyans. While these intense hues stand out in animated app store preview videos, staring at them for more than ten minutes causes severe eye strain and headaches.

Cones in the human retina fatigue quickly when bombarded with hyper-saturated light, especially on high-brightness mobile OLED panels.

The elegance of muted botanical palettes

In Hexa Bloom and Block Flow, our color systems are inspired by traditional Japanese printmaking and botanical flora. Colors have distinct hue separations so they remain immediately distinguishable, but saturation levels are calibrated to provide visual warmth and restfulness.

You can play for an hour without experiencing eye discomfort.
