How Multi-Line Combos and Streaks Work in 8x8 Block Puzzles

Why clearing rows on consecutive turns generates massive multipliers and how to set up cascade clears.

The mathematics of score multipliers

In casual block puzzles, clearing two lines at once does not simply double your score. Most modern scoring algorithms reward exponential point values for multi-line clears.

In Block Flow, clearing a single row awards base points, but clearing two lines simultaneously triggers a combo multiplier. If you clear lines on back-to-back turns, a streak bonus activates on top of the combo.

Setting up cross-clears

The highest scoring moves happen when you place a single piece that finishes both a horizontal row and a vertical column simultaneously. We call this a cross-clear.

Look for an almost-full column and an almost-full row that intersect on an empty tile. Dropping a single corner or square piece onto that intersection clears both lines and doubles your score multiplier.

Putting this into practice

Whether you play on your morning commute or as an evening wind-down, focusing on deliberate placements will transform your experience.
